Get the Most Out of Your ClearifiRx Prescription

Now that you’ve taken the first steps to lighten and brighten your complexion, now comes the most important one! Keep the following in mind to get the most out of your ClearifiRx prescription.

Use As Directed

Make sure that you’re only using your medicine as directed; don’t use it more often or for a longer period of time than instructed. Doing so could ultimately result in skin irritation. Also, avoid putting the medicine in or around the eyes, lips, or inside of the nose. If you accidentally get the medicine in one of those areas, gently wash it away with soap and water.

Scrap Current Topical Therapies

Avoid using exfoliants, acne washes, chemical peels or other topical therapies while you are using your personalized ClearifiRx prescription. The combination of over-the-counter or other prescription-strength products with Clearifi might cause skin irritation, which is exactly what we are trying to avoid!

Prep Your Skin

Start by prepping your face and neck with warm water and a mild cleanser, avoiding the use of washcloths or sponges. Rinse and pat the skin dry with a towel, only applying the medication once the skin has dried completely. Medication applied to wet skin can increase the chance of irritation.

Then take a pea-sized (0.5 grams) amount of your formulation and apply a thin layer to the hyperpigmented patches, extending coverage 1 centimeter on to surrounding skin. Make sure all affected areas are lightly covered and the medicine has been rubbed in completely.

Apply Moisturizer & Makeup As You Normally Would

After the cream is rubbed in, wash your hands to get rid of any remaining medicine. You can then apply moisturizer, makeup or sunscreen as you would normally. You may also try applying moisturizer both before and after Clearifi. For those with particularly sensitive skin, a moisturizer “sandwich” can help prevent irritation.

In addition to the regular use of sunscreen, wearing protective clothing to avoid further sun damage, such as broad-brimmed hats is recommended. The use of Clearifi can increase your skin’s sensitivity to sun and heat.

Missed Doses

You will probably miss some doses accidentally while you are going through the treatment process. In that case, don’t double up. Instead, simply skip the missed dose and return to your normal schedule.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to the Clearifi team with questions about how to apply your medication. We want to make this process as positive and effective as possible!
